How to File a Sexual Harassment Complaint

As per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, any aggrieved woman — student or employee — has the right to file a complaint with the Internal Complaints Committee. Every complaint is taken seriously and addressed with full sensitivity and confidentiality.

1

File a Written Complaint

Submit a written complaint to the Presiding Officer / Chairperson within 3 months from the date of the incident. The complaint should include your name, the respondent's name, details of the incident(s), date(s), location(s), and any supporting evidence if available.

2

Submit Confidentially

Hand over the complaint directly to the Presiding Officer, send it via email, or drop it in a sealed envelope in the Complaint Box at the college office. Your identity will be protected at all times.

3

Conciliation or Inquiry

The committee may attempt conciliation (if requested by the complainant) or proceed directly to a formal inquiry. All proceedings are conducted in a sensitive, impartial, and time-bound manner.

4

Report & Action

The inquiry will be completed within 60 days as mandated by law. The committee will submit its findings and recommendations for appropriate disciplinary action.

Your Legal Right: Filing a complaint is your legal right under the POSH Act, 2013. No complainant shall be subjected to any victimisation, discrimination, or retaliation for filing a complaint in good faith.

Strict Confidentiality: All information related to the complaint — including the identity of the complainant, respondent, witnesses, and inquiry proceedings — shall be kept strictly confidential.
